Mylene Aggabao, Principal Dancer Ballet Manila (PSB from 3 years old)
20 March 2014

I can still remember what you have said “yung mga natutunan mo, hindi na mawawala sa iyo.  Kaya, My, wag mong sayangin.”  Those words were my inspiration and helped me along the way.  From 3 years of age until my first injury at 13, you were always there behind me.  Kung hindi dahil sa iyo, there’s no Mylene Aggabao.  Sana hindi ka magsasawang magsermon sa akin.  Now, as I dance on G.S.I.S. stage, I dedicate my dance to a wonderful teacher like you.  I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH.

To play Cinderella is to be able to dance my heart out once again.  Congratulations in advance for a successful show and summer.  Thank you for pushing each and everyone of us to our very best and I hope we’ll all be able to give back to you what you have given to us.  I promise to do my very best and dance my heart out!

I have learned so much from you, from ballet technique to life lessons outside the dance studio.  Thank you for always being there for my family and I and for molding me to become the best person I can possibly be.

I started dancing with you when I was 3, and I fell in love with it because everything was PINK.  Then as I grew older, I slowly realized that it was not all a bed of pink roses…it took a lot of dedication, commitment and hard work.  Sometimes, it becomes challenging when I have to balance dance and schoolwork.  That’s when I started to value the discipline and time management that I developed through the years.  I don’t think I would do as well in school if not for all the values and life lessons I have learned from PSB through all these years.  I can’t thank you enough for giving me the opportunity to dance as Clara in the Nutcracker, a Jeje Angel, and doing a Pas de Deux.  Thank you for believing in me, Teacher Perry.  I am truly grateful.

I started with PSB when I was 4 and I enjoy dancing with my sister.  I had my first pointe class this week and I am looking forward to getting better at it.  Just like what you did with my sister Mandy and the others, thank you for going with me last Sunday to buy my first pointe shoe to make sure they fit me perfectly.  My favorite part of PSB are the recitals.  I get to meet many friends and we all work hard together for a common goal.  In the end, all the hard work is worth it when I see the smile on the faces of my parents and how proud they look.

There are so many things I have learned from you, Teacher Perry!  I’ve learned that there are so many benefits a child can get from dancing ballet.  They become more disciplined, they learn how to listen carefully, they gain strength in their bones and muscles, they gain confidence in themselves, they learn how to express themselves through movement, etc.  You have also taught me ways and techniques on how to be a better dancer, such as always stretching, remaining focused and doing your best.  Thank you Teacher Perry for all the corrections you have given me.  For being kind and generous to all your students.  Thank you for always believing in me.  For pushing me to my limits.  Thank you for all the love you constantly give me.  Thank you for inspiring me to dance.  For making me feel special whenever I do double pirouette or a step correctly.

Because of you, I have grown as a dancer and as a person.  This was one of the best recitals I have ever participated in.  Because of your amazing teaching skills, I have gotten hundreds of compliments from many people.  You taught me how to have fun when I dance; I don’t know how I would have continued dancing if I hadn’t had fun.

Thank you for being such an amazing teacher.  You’ve taught me to be more confident with myself and that I can achieve anything I want if I just let go of the fear.  Thank you for making me who I am today.  You are such an inspiration.

I wanted to keep dancing and meet great people along the way.  And in 7 months, I found home in Perry Sevidal Ballet.  Teacher Perry, thank you for taking me in as one of your own.
